In 2012 Atlanta Attorney Nelson Tyrone,  of the Tyrone Law Firm wrote an article RSD Is Real How to Help the Adjuster, Judge and Jury Understand to provide an  an overview to lawyers of some of the key issues involved in obtaining significant settlements and verdicts on behalf of clients suffering from Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) formerly known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD).

He has given his permission for us to share the CRPS Legal Matrix here. While the article is geared toward attorneys these same principles hold true for whatever type of case your are building. Mr. Tyrone & his Law Firm have  won multi-million dollar awards in Catastrophic Personal Injury and Wrongful Death Cases related to CRPS/RSD throughout the country.

Whether you were injured at work and are on Worker’s Compensation, are seeing a doctor and your symptoms are not consistently manifesting during your appointments and you need them to be able to “see” what you are experiencing or you are filing for Social Security and need to put your case in order documentation is the key.

With technology as advanced as it is today, there’s no reason to not document the changes as they occur.  Most phones have video & photo capabilities. So, when you begin to experience the color changes, swelling, sweating and other visual anomalies turn it around and capture it on file. Save it to a file to take with you to your next appointment. Be sure to make a backup just in case you should have an equipment failure.

All of these steps will help you to build your case and counter any claims by ill informed & undereducated or those who are trying to dispute your valid claims for disability.
